Children and Young People

S.T.A.R - Safety , Trust and Respect

At West Wales Domestic Abuse Service, our Children and Young People’s (CYP) team is dedicated to supporting young people who experience domestic abuse. We offer a range of practical and creative services tailored to different age groups and learning styles.

Our Ar Trac programme provides group work such as Mini’s for younger children, Teens’ group work, Healing Together sessions, and Drawing and Talking therapy. For those needing more personalised support, we provide 1:1 sessions with our trained specialist domestic abuse workers. Our goal is to create a safe, supportive space where young people can express themselves, build resilience, and begin their healing journey.

Our work is centred on helping young people feel heard, safe, and empowered. We aim to build their resilience and confidence, giving them the tools they need to understand their experiences, express their emotions in healthy ways, develop positive relationships and move forward with strength and self-belief.
