Location:  North Ceredigion with some working in different locations.

30 hours per week, Between £20,00 and £22,500 FTE dependant on experience, per annum pro rata.

We have a great opportunity for a motivated and committed woman to join our Breakthrough Project to make a difference in Ceredigion.

This is an innovative new project funded by Nationwide. Breakthrough is an advocacy and resettlement project which will enable women to increase their safety, increase confidence and self-esteem, address housing needs and the wellbeing of families, and enable women to flourish and actively contribute to their local community.

As an independent advocate you will provide intensive, preventative, emotional and practical support, advocacy and information, prioritising those at high risk of harm who require housing advocacy.

Part of your work will be to tailor support to the needs of survivors through safety and support plans. The advocate will explain housing, welfare, civil and criminal legal options to clients, and develop individual safety plans to meet needs and address individual risks clients face and deliver a service appropriate to the level of risk. This includes working within a multi-agency setting to ensure all agencies, including housing services, do their part to co-ordinate their work to keep survivors safe in their homes, whether that be in the refuges we run or in being rehoused in appropriate housing within Ceredigion.

We welcome applications from all areas of the community; however, we particularly encourage applications from members of our BAME community as well as individuals with disabilities who are currently under-represented within our workforce.

The closing date for applications is 7th June at 4pm and interviews will be held on Wednesday 16th June. Interviews may be held either in Aberystwyth or over Microsoft Teams.

The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act. Posts will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) and open to women only. (Exempt under the Occupational Requirement under the Equality Act 2010 Schedule 9, Part 1)
