Two excellent opportunities have arisen to join an award-winning specialist domestic abuse Charity.

West Wales Domestic Abuse Service is an innovative, passionate, grassroots charity working across the county of Ceredigion in rural West Wales. Our purpose is to end the harm that domestic abuse causes to all survivors. Our provision is holistic and empowering, working alongside survivors to achieve independent lives, free from abuse.

Service Operations Manager

37 hours per week - £30,000 - £33,000 depending on experience and qualifications

Ceredigion

This is an exciting opportunity to build on current delivery and to develop the capacity of West Wales Domestic Abuse Service to provide inclusive support services to victims of domestic abuse across Dyfed-Powys, and in particular Ceredigion. The Operations Manager has responsibility for leading, managing, developing, monitoring and reviewing all the operational elements involved in running our high-quality frontline services to victims of domestic abuse; managing our senior practitioners and supporting them to manage their staff teams; ensuring that all contractual targets are achieved; initiating, developing and maintaining effective relationships and formal partnerships with organisations within the Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) sector; overseeing representation at Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conferences (MARAC); and implementing and supporting the development of the strategic direction of all services. The role offers real opportunities to expand the service in innovative ways to better provide for the needs of the men, women and children we support. It also offers the chance to work with commissioners and partners to shape and grow services, sometimes piloting new initiatives to ensure we make a practical and effective difference to people’s lives, helping them to feel secure and empowering them to live harmoniously within their communities.

We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to inspire and build the confidence of staff and partners alike. Someone committed to fostering effective, innovative and evidence-based interventions and approaches focused on the delivery of services that make a real and positive difference through supporting, protecting and empowering people and communities.  In essence, we want someone who is passionate about making a difference in their community.

Finance and Resource Manager

Ceredigion

30 hours per week - £30,000 - £33,000 FTE depending on experience

Key to this role is helping to scale-up the charity’s financial and resource infrastructure in line with recent growth and development. The postholder will work closely with the CEO to ensure effective financial management, IT systems, HR, health and safety and office resources for West Wales Domestic Abuse Service. As part of the senior management team you will line manage the Administration and Monitoring Officer and Finance Officer.  

This is an interesting and varied opportunity, principally focussing on ensuring efficient financial and funding controls and reporting, but with a range of operational duties to ensure the effective functioning of HR. administration, health & safety, facilities management, IT and data protection. Please note that experience in these operational areas is not essential, but candidates should possess an aptitude to work with the senior management team on projects outside of the accounting function. The role works closely with the organisation’s CEO and senior management team and the Finance Officer. The successful candidate will be supported by an experienced HR Dept and IT support contract. Taking lead responsibility for the accounting lifecycle of the organisation, you will head up budgeting, management accounting and the preparation of budgets for fundraising and financial reporting in in line with the charity’s policies This is a hands-on role in a grassroots charity where you will be able to identify and make improvements to systems and processes, as necessary.

The candidate will be a confident communicator and an organised self-starter. You will have experience of managing staff and be capable of prioritising tasks and managing multiple deadlines. The ideal candidate would be interested in taking on additional fundraising responsibilities as the charity continues to grow. 

Flexible working hours/days are available to fit around childcare or other needs, with office and some home working.
